About the Project
Durham has awarded Fane Ltd some funding to work with Adults and the community-the project runs until July 2017 allowing us to offer our training courses free of charge to qualifying individuals living in County Durham

How can we help?

 For Jobseekers
We can offer advice & guidance on available qualifications and how they fit in with careers and job roles-we have a range of qualifications that are both bespoke and nationally recognised including taster courses that enable you to find out more about certain job roles -through to 8 day courses that deliver the skills, knowledge and qualifications required to help secure a specific job eg Health & Social Care-together with interview and CV building tips & techniques. On these courses we will be inviting local employers to contribute to the courses and to let delegates know what they look for in employees(we will also encourage them to consider anyone who completes our course for any current vacancies

For Individuals, Volunteers, Charities and Voluntary Organisations

Check out our dates for H&S , Food Safety and HSE Approved First Aid courses. If you are a Caring organisation have a look at our 60glh 8 day Health & Social Care (Principles and Practice) Level 2 course which will equip your volunteers with all of the skills and qualifications needed for a caring role

For Local Employers
Is the cost of mandatory training preventing you from taking on a jobseeker?- We can help by funding Food Safety, HSE Approved Emergency First Aid , Health & Safety, Manual Handling etc. If you are a Care company give us a call to see if our Health & Social Care level 2 course can help you to deliver all of your mandatory training to  new/ prospective staff-or if you are struggling to fill your vacancies, give us a call-we may have someone on our courses who would fit the bill!

For Support Organisations
Are you working with jobseekers or anyone far from the labour market? We know funding is tight at the moment for training in the welfare to work sector-Fortunately we can use our funding, not only to deliver bespoke or nationally  recognised qualifications but also to allow your clients to develop their confidence and self esteem, find out what is involved in certain jobs and job roles, build their cv and gain Level 1 or 2 qualifications in a supportive environment that might help them decide if further education is an option for them, now or in the future

Where are the courses held?

Courses can be held anywhere in County Durham (if their is sufficient interest from learners)

We have delivered funded courses in Consett, Stanley , Chester le Street, Durham, Seaham, Peterlee,  Dawdon, Bishop Auckland, Weardale-just give us a call!

What courses are available?

 3 hour courses

Paediatric first aid & health & safety in the home, weaning, anaphyllaxis -or any health related topic

12 hour courses- Paediatric First Aid or EFAW/H&S, EFAW/Food Safety  etc etc

As a commercial training provider working across the North East we currently provide training for  staff from some of the region’s largest employers in our portfolio of over 350 customers-we understand their job roles & staffing requirements, the kind of people, qualifications and experience they are looking for(and often when they are looking for them!) .

These courses are designed for those who want to enter a particular job or for those do not yet have a clear job goal.

Delegates will also gain 2 relevant qualifications at level 2- eg food safety, first aid, Health & safety etc.

Stand Alone Level 2 (6glh) Nationally Recognised  Courses

For those learners who have a clear job goal or need to enhance their cv with current learning we can offer a Level 2 1 day Nationally recognised course eg  Food Safety, HSE Approved Emergency First Aid at Work, Paediatric First Aid, Health & Safety, Manual Handling(people or objects) etc see course outlines here

60glh Level 2 Provision

Designed specifically to meet the needs of local employers(where possible in conjunction with the employers themselves) we offer a 60glh 8 day course which can be accessed directly or as progression from any of the above course programmes.

A sector specific course designed to prepare candidates to go into work in (for example) Health & Social Care, the course is a mix of  bespoke and nationally recognised units at level 1&2 designed to meet the requirements of employers in the sector- in terms of job skills, qualifications and interview preparation. Wherever possible we bring in local employers to deliver parts of the course-and offer interviews where appropriate.
